It was a beautiful day at Motor Mile Speedway and Jake was excited to try some new things in the pursuit of speed. Practice went well although Jake was one of the slower cars but we overlooked that noing the tires were worn completely out. For qualifying the team tried a few new things and they helped for the most part. Jake complained of a tight race car but did run a lap of 16.141 which was good enough for 6th at the end of qualifying.
With his best starting position ever Jake looked forward to trying to stay there and finish the race with a good top 10 or top 5. Jake started the race and on the first lap Stacy Compton development driver Stephen Berry tried going 3-wide and to avoid the wreck Jake fell all the way back to about 15th. He stayed there the rest of the evening fighting an ill handling car. At the end of the night he was officially 13th place.
