Finish: 1stFinish: 1stAfter a week off Jake Keaton Racing was back at Ona for the 2nd race of the season. Jake was ready to see if his car had been repaired from the prior weeks problems and Jason was ready to try and add another win. It was a beautiful day at the track but from practice there was much work still to be done to Jakes car. He fought a terribly bad handling conditions all night. In the classics on the other hand Jason just experiemented with drving lines for all of practice. Rick was unable to participate this week in his classic but hopes to have someone in the car next week. Jakes engine problems were corrected so all that was left was to get the handling right. We only recieved one practice session so Jake did not have much time to get his car dialed in.For the feature Jake drew the pole and Jason had to start on the tail due to a win last week. Jasons feature was up first with a 10 lap shootout instead of 2 short dashes as the week prior. There was another short field of just 4 cars and Jason started on the tale. He quickly made his into 2nd after lap 1 and took the lead going into turn 1 on the 2nd lap. He held on to the lead to collect his 2nd victory.Jake started on the pole and quickly pulled out to a short lead. Competitor Robbie Watson was all over Jake though after a few laps but lost control twice leaving Jake to run a way and take the win. It was Jakes 1st win of the season and 4th feature victory of his career.The next race is on May 28th, 2005 as Jake and Jason try to capture more victories and extend their points leads.
